How it works?
Inspection & Preparation
We begin with a full inspection and provide a simple checklist so you know exactly how to prepare your space.
Set-Up & Heating
Our technicians seal the area and use industrial heaters to raise the temperature to 130–145°F — the thermal death point for bed bugs.
Monitoring & Safety
Sensors are placed throughout your home to ensure even heat distribution. We monitor everything from start to finish.
Cool Down & Follow-Up
Once the treatment is done, we ventilate the space. You can return the same day, bed-bug free.
Questions?
Is heat treatment safe for my home and electronics?
Yes — when performed by licensed professionals, heat treatment is generally safe for your home and belongings. The temperature is carefully controlled (usually around 120–140°F or 50–60°C) to kill bed bugs while staying below the threshold that could damage most electronics, furniture, or finishes.
However, items that are heat-sensitive (like candles, cosmetics, vinyl records, aerosol cans, or live plants) should be removed before treatment. Technicians will provide a checklist beforehand.
How long does it take?
A typical heat treatment takes 6 to 8 hours, depending on the size of your home, the level of infestation, and the number of rooms being treated. This includes setup, heating, monitoring, and cooldown time. You’ll need to stay out of the home during the process.
Will it kill all the bed bugs?
Yes — when done properly, heat treatment kills all stages of bed bugs, including eggs, nymphs, and adults. The heat penetrates deep into cracks, furniture, and mattresses where bed bugs hide.
That said, complete success also depends on proper preparation and no reintroduction of bugs (for example, through infested luggage or furniture).
Do I need to do anything before the treatment?
Yes — preparation is important. Here’s a general pre-treatment checklist:
Remove heat-sensitive items (aerosols, wax candles, plants, medications, etc.).
Unplug electronics but leave them in place so they can be treated.
Reduce clutter to help heat circulate evenly.
Vacuum and empty the vacuum bag outside your home.
Launder and dry bedding and clothing on high heat, then store them in sealed bags until after treatment.
Inform the technician of any delicate items or areas of concern.
